There are around 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. Yet no two individuals experience the illness in the same way.
Some may experience changes in visual perception, reduced appetite, or difficulties in operating household appliances.
However, research has taught us a lot about how we might ease these problems, and our dementia care products are designed to do just that. For example, we offer a selection of brightly coloured plates and cups, because presenting food and drink in highly contrasting dinnerware has been shown to increase food and drink consumption.
We also offer products that make life easier for those caring people living with dementia, such as key safes that can be fixed by front doors, and visual cue cards to help them learn more about the person they’re caring for.
As we enter our 40th year in 2017, we bring a wealth of experience with us. But we’re not complacent – we’re using that experience to challenge the status quo and shape the future of care.
