January 29, 2026 | Terry Smith Can the RAYMEX® Lift be used outside? Many customers have asked us whether the new RAYMEX® Lift can be used outdoors. In short, yes, the RAYMEX® Lift can be used outside, and for many users this is one of its biggest advantages. While it is primarily known as an indoor mobility and lifting aid, it also performs very effectively in outdoor environments when used correctly and in suitable conditions. Used thoughtfully, it can help people stay active, independent, and confident beyond the home. Outdoor activities the RAYMEX® Lift supports The RAYMEX® Lift is particularly helpful for light, everyday outdoor activities where stability and reduced bending are important. Gardening and outdoor chores For users who enjoy gardening, the RAYMEX® Lift allows supported walking and helps reduce the need to bend down or stand back up unaided. This lowers strain on the knees, hips, and back, and significantly reduces the risk of losing balance while working in the garden. Spending time with grandchildren Playing with grandchildren often involves repeated bending, reaching, and getting up from lower positions. The RAYMEX® Lift provides stable support, making these movements safer and less tiring while allowing users to stay engaged and active. Moving around patios and lawns On flat outdoor surfaces such as patios, driveways, paths, and lawns, the RAYMEX® Lift offers confident support for short walks and standing tasks. How it reduces the risk of falls outdoors Falls outdoors often happen due to loss of balance when bending, turning, or standing up. The RAYMEX® Lift helps reduce these risks by: Providing continuous support while walking Assisting with standing up from a seated or crouched position Reducing the need for unsupported bending Encouraging upright posture and controlled movement This combination makes it particularly valuable for users who feel less steady outdoors but still want to remain active. Important limitations to be aware of While the RAYMEX® Lift is suitable for outdoor use, it is not designed for all outdoor conditions. Weather conditions It should not be used in the rain, as wet surfaces increase the risk of slipping and can affect safe operation. Ground surfaces The RAYMEX® Lift is not suitable for exceptionally rough, uneven, or muddy ground, such as mud after heavy rain, or heavily rutted paths. These surfaces can compromise stability and safety. Best practice For outdoor use, it is best limited to dry conditions and firm, even surfaces where the user can maintain good control and balance. Is the RAYMEX® Lift right for outdoor use? If the goal is to stay active, enjoy time outside, and reduce the risk of falls during light outdoor activities, the RAYMEX® Lift can be an excellent solution. It is especially well-suited to gardens, patios, and lawns, helping users maintain independence without unnecessary risk. As with any mobility aid, correct use and realistic expectations are key. When used in the right environment, the RAYMEX® Lift can support a safer and more confident outdoor lifestyle. The RAYMEX® Lift – Now available to pre-order.
