Can the RAYMEX® Lift prevent the need for full time care?

For many families, the decision to bring in full-time care often comes down to one key question. Can their loved one continue to live safely and independently at home? Falls are one of the biggest reasons people move into residential care, and the worry about how someone will get back up can create a lot of stress for both the individual and their family.

The RAYMEX® Lift has been designed to make safe lifting at home simpler and more independent. Although no single device can guarantee that full-time care will never be needed, the RAYMEX® Lift can play a valuable role in helping some people remain at home for longer.

Supporting independence after a fall

The RAYMEX® Lift is the only powered fall lift that can be used independently by many users after a non-injury fall.

This means that someone living alone may not need a carer, neighbour, or emergency responder to help them stand back up. For families, this often reduces the worry associated with long response times or repeated callouts.

Reducing the demand on carers

For those who already have some level of support at home, the RAYMEX® Lift can reduce the amount of hands-on assistance needed.

Rather than requiring two carers to manage a lift safely, the RAYMEX® Lift enables a single carer, and in many cases no carer at all, to complete the lift. This does not replace care entirely, but it can reduce the hours required, which in turn can delay the need for more comprehensive support.

Improving confidence for people living alone

The fear of falling and not being able to get back up is often as limiting as the fall itself.

The reassurance that the RAYMEX® Lift brings can help someone maintain daily routines, continue living independently, and feel safe staying in their own home. This confidence can be a key factor in delaying or removing the need for full-time care.

Safer for caregivers and loved ones

Friends and family often step in to help after a fall, even when it is not safe for them to do so.

The RAYMEX® Lift removes the physical strain that can lead to injuries and makes the process controlled and predictable. This allows families to continue providing support without risking their own health.

When the RAYMEX® Lift can help delay full-time care

The RAYMEX® Lift may support independence for people who:

  • Experience occasional non-injury falls
  • Can follow simple instructions
  • Can transfer or sit with support once raised
  • Have sufficient upper body strength to shuffle onto the device after a fall
  • Live alone and want to stay at home safely
  • Have carers whose time and physical capacity are limited

When full-time care may still be needed

While the RAYMEX® Lift is a powerful tool, it is not suitable for every situation. If someone has frequent injurious falls, unmanaged medical conditions, or needs round-the-clock supervision, full-time care may still be the safest option. The device is also not suitable for bariatric users.
