Top 4 accessible trails in Suffolk for wheelchairs and mobility scooters

So, the weather’s nicer and now you wondering where in Suffolk you can get outdoors with your mobility scooter or power wheelchair and enjoy our beautiful county. Well, here’s our top 4 recommendations for accessible nature trails in Suffolk!

1. Needham Lake

Needham Lake is a popular nature reserve in Needham Market, Suffolk. It’s the perfect option if you’re looking to spend a tranquil afternoon enjoying woodlands and aquatic birdlife.

The main pathway around the lake itself is wide and fully surfaced, so should always be fully accessible for wheelchairs and scooters. This route would take around 20 mins to complete. If you have an all-terrain mobility scooter or power wheelchair, you may be able to explore further into the woodlands.

There’s also a visitor centre and café, and plenty of picnic tables and toilet facilities. You may also find an ice cream van on site in the summer months!
