Who the RAYMEX® Lift is for and who it is not for

Choosing the right fall recovery and mobility solution means understanding what a product actually does and who will benefit most from it. The RAYMEX® Lift is unique because it combines multiple functions into one device, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best choice for everyone.

Below, I’ll break down exactly who this product is designed for and who should consider other options.

Who the RAYMEX® Lift is for

People who want to stay independent at home
The RAYMEX® Lift is designed to be a personal fall recovery device you can use by yourself without waiting for help.

If you are uninjured after a fall and have enough upper body mobility to shuffle onto the seat, the RAYMEX® Lift lets you raise yourself safely from the floor back to standing independently.

This makes it ideal for older adults living alone or with minimal support who want reassurance and autonomy.

Individuals with everyday mobility needs
Unlike many lifting devices, the RAYMEX® Lift is also a walking and stand aid, and can be used as an alternative to a rollator.

Its adjustable handles provide support for standing and for walking short distances, helping users remain active around the house as part of daily life.

People who value multifunctionality
If you want a device that does more than just lift someone from the floor, the RAYMEX® Lift is a strong fit.

The RAYMEX combines a walker, lifting chair, transfer aid and lowering device all in one. That means you don’t need separate equipment for different tasks, which can save space and cost in a home setting.

Those with sufficient strength and mobility to self-transfer
While a companion or caregiver can assist with using the RAYMEX® Lift, its main strength lies in empowering users who have enough upper body strength and coordination to get themselves onto the seat by shuffling backwards. If you can manage this safely, the device boosts confidence and independence.

Private individuals and home settings
Because it’s portable, lightweight (around 16 kg) and doesn’t require assembly before use, the RAYMEX® Lift is particularly suited to the home environment rather than very high-frequency falls settings.

Who the RAYMEX® Lift is not for

People who cannot self-transfer
If you do not have the strength or mobility to shuffle yourself onto the RAYMEX seat, this device may not be suitable as a sole fall recovery solution because it relies on the user initiating the transfer onto the seat.

That being said, if the RAYMEX® Lift is being used in a care home, the caregiver can assist the fallen person on and off the device.

Bariatric users or those above the weight limit
The RAYMEX® Lift has a maximum user weight of 136 kg. People exceeding this limit should look for devices with higher safe working loads to ensure safety and durability.

Professional response teams or high-volume lifting needs
While the RAYMEX doubles as a mobility aid, it has fewer lifts per battery charge compared with specialist devices like the Raizer 2, which can perform more lifts on a single charge.

This makes something like the Raizer a better choice for services that respond to frequent falls, such as ambulance services or community responder teams.

People with very limited space or no ability to walk or stand at all
Although portable, the RAYMEX® Lift still requires space to manoeuvre and for the user to move around it.

In very constrained environments or with users who cannot stand, other solutions (like ceiling hoists or mechanical full-support lifts) may be more appropriate.
