How much does the TransitFlow Portering Chair cost?

How much does the TransitFlow Portering Chair cost? This will always be one of the first questions anyone will ask when researching the TransitFlow or portering chairs in general.

We get it. Price matters. It’s not the only consideration but it’s pretty important, and for many of us it’s something that has a big influence over what products we choose.

At Felgains, we aim to educate every prospective buyer, even if that ultimately leads you towards a different type of portering chair. So, in this article, I’ll do my best to outline the actual price of the TransitFlow chair and explain to you what factors affect the price.

How much does the TransitFlow chair cost?

Designed for hospital use, the TransitFlow Portering Chair enables patients to be transported safely and comfortably in situations where a patient stretcher is unnecessary. The TransitFlow starts at £912 excluding VAT for a single chair. Please note, however, that quantity discounts are available.

Optional extras

Several optional extras are available for the TransitFlow chair to help you configure the most suitable chair for your trust. The costs for these are as follows:

Accessory Price exc. VAT
Removable IV pole £59.00
U-shape anti-theft, fitted with 2 hooks infusion holder £80.00
Accessory basket £80.00
Holder for oxygen cylinder £75.00
Equipment for leg rest (pair) £28.00
Coin lock £164.00
Coin lock for a specific token £164.00

What about servicing and maintenance?

The TransitFlow chair requires an annual service.  This can be conducted by Felgains or by Estates or Clinical Engineering.

Is the TransitFlow available on NHS procurement frameworks?

Currently, the TransitFlow is not available to purchase via NHS Supply Chain but we are working to get it added to Lot 5 – Patient Stretchers and Trolleys and Related Accessories and Services.

In the meantime, the TransitFlow is available to purchase as a compliant spend via NHS SBS 10246.
